Jefferson County Federation of Sportsmens for Youth, a PA Tax Exempt Purely Public Charity, is an organization dedicated to providing an outdoor experience for the youth of the area, sponsors Jefferson County Youth Field Day. The committee consists of representatives from the sportsmen’s clubs located in Jefferson County, PA Fish and Boat Commission, and PA Game Commission. Over the years, the event has grown from a small group of children to events hosting well over 100 youth. The first Jefferson County Youth Field Day was July 17, 1994. Reynlow Park, near Reynoldsville, is a central location for the county and offers a lake for canoeing and fishing, as well as plenty of room for the various activity stations. Participants visit 11 stations and take a break for lunch. The event is free, funded through donations from local businesses and individuals. Jefferson County Federation of Sportsmens for Youth is a member of Northwest Sportsmen for Youth, the group coordinating the Youth Field Days in the 10 northwestern counties of PA.
